WOODCUT & CONTENT MEDIA GO INSIDE THE IVY

Woodcut Media and Content Media today announce that they are co-producing The Ivy, a definitive documentary that will take an exclusive behind-the-scenes look at one of the world’s most eminent restaurants as it undergoes its first major renovation in 25 years. The one hour special is co-funded by Content Media and Woodcut Media’s parent company, Bob & Co, and international rights will be distributed across all media through Content Media’s Content Television division.

Directed by BAFTA award-winner Adrian Sibley (The Kate Bush Story: Running Up That Hill), this observational film follows The Ivy’s charismatic director, Fernando Peire as he oversees the London-based establishment’s extraordinary transformation while simultaneously inviting camera crews into the restaurant for the first time.

The Ivy captures every aspect of this extensive reboot, from its final weeks as The Ivy of old, a restaurant whose décor and dining experience have earned it a global fame on a par with its clientele, through to the twists and turns leading up to its re-launch, as well as the first few weeks of its re-opening when diners old and new will come to size up its face-lift. From repositioning its bar and updating the menu to overhauling its staff, the documentary provides unprecedented access into The Ivy. As it embarks on a reinvention of its winning formula to remain relevant to the next generation, Fernando takes the bold decision to sell iconic pieces of art long associated with the restaurant at Sotheby’s, while commissioning a new wave of works from the likes of Maggi Hambling and Damien Hirst.

Through intimate interviews, viewers are introduced to the team working at The Ivy, as well as an illustrious cast of The Ivy’s famous clientele, including Calvin Klein, Maggi Hambling, Ronald Harwood and Julian Fellowes, who speak candidly of their personal experiences inside The Ivy.
