SMALL WORLD IFT SENDS CHEF AT YOUR DOOR TO UKRAINE

Los Angeles and London based formats company Small World IFT has further extended the reach of Chef at Your Door, its ratings-winning competition format, as the Ukraine’s national broadcaster Inter channel commissions two seasons for local production.

Known locally as ‘Neighbour for Dinner’, Chef at Your Door, which sees a host travelling across the country to challenge families and neighbours to create a meal with the assistance of a celebrity chef and a surprise ingredient, will be produced by 07 Productions in Ukraine. With a total of 16 x 45-minute episodes ordered, Inter will debut the first season on March 22nd.

This news follows the successful adaptation of Chef at Your Door on Poland’s TVP1 on Saturdays where it more than tripled the average share in the 18h30 timeslot.  Airing locally as Sasiad na widelcu, Chef at Your Door is produced by Rochstar.  Originally created by Germany’s Tresor TV, Chef at Your Door also airs on French channel Gulli, where it doubled the ratings year-on-year in its timeslot.

Tim Crescenti, President at Small World IFT, commented, “We’re THRILLED to see Chef at Your Door making its debut in the Ukraine. The format celebrates families, community spirit and delicious culinary delights. This is such a warm-hearted and hugely entertaining format which is also simple and economical to adapt for local audiences as both a weekly and daily show. It is quickly establishing itself as a stand-out hit in our international portfolio and we have more deals cooking for chefs to be knocking on even more new doors throughout 2014”.

Two neighbouring families, two five-star chefs, a charming host and two surprise ingredients is the mouth-watering recipe for Chef at Your Door. Using only what they have in their kitchen, alongside the two new ingredients, families must work together with a top chef to create a masterpiece dinner in record time. Their work is judged by five of their neighbours, and the winner takes home a prize.

Small World IFT signed an ongoing strategic deal with global entertainment company Content Media Corporation in 2012, which sees Content’s management team and sales executives working closely with Small World to build a global formats sales company.
